Happy Fall!

September is nearly over and yet my winter clothes are still all packed...whats the deal?

I love fall & winter...football, hollidays, sweaters, cute coats, layered clothes, pretty scarfs, JEANS,  BOOTS, good hair (minus the static)...I could go on forever! Nic and I decided to get married in the fall because we both loved it so much and I'd have to say, no matter how MISERABLE the cold weather can be at times (like last year) I think I'll always prefer that over the hot/humid Mississippi summer months!!

Last weekend I went and checked on Nic at a job in Ridgeland
This is the home of one of Nic's favorite clients...they are super nice, MSU alumni and take LOTS of pride in their yard...as you can probably tell.... They are ALWAYS changing up stuff and doing new projects.

This WAS a grassy area but due to the shade and drainage problem, it didn't grow so....Nic told them to find a statue of some sort....the deer could not be more fitting, ha. During my 30 mins of being there, I saw 5 or 6 deer walk around their house. PS-this is not your ordinary reindeer either...its a 300-400 lb solid bronze, as Nic said...one heavy SOB!

Nic poured a concrete statue base and laid a paver walkway coming off their sidewalk.

Pavers look easy but they all had to be cut to fit like a puzzle piece (this particular project was a total of TWENTY NINE hours -crazy, huh?

After adding pinestraw....think they are going to plant autumn ferns around the base.

Sir Remington

Yesterday I hosted bunco at my house so I had to neglect poor Remi. He was stuck outside ALL day until nearly 10 last night. Poor fella! He usually comes in at lunch because of this awful heat but I couldn't bring myself to do it --I DID NOT want to re-clean and vaccum dog hair before everyone came.
Anyways..we stayed up til almost 12  last night just playing. He loves to be chased so I had to chase him around AND arounddddddddd until he was pooped and decided it was bedtime.
Remi sitting at the dining room table (rare occurance)
Look at those eye brows....wonder what he was thinking or even what he was looking at?!
My favorite. Tyler and Remi going to "catch" fish, literally (with a net)
Watch dog taking his eyes off the "tubers"
He can climb a straight ladder--this honestly is amazing...you would have to see it to believe it!
He gets up quicker than Tyler
And he swims quicker than Tyler..isn't this cute? How many dogs do you know that would PULL a 6 yr old to a ladder?
Super-dog!
Wonder what he is thinking here? ha.

I'm obsessed but I think I have all the reason to be...he's just so darn cute!!
All these pictures make me miss him!! Currently in Tupelo working but will be home with this little guy tomorrow!

TGIF!!

This morning as I was driving to work, I hear cowbells on the radio (instant smile) and the guy says how Mississippi State is the biggest University in MS. I sure didn't know that! This weekend starts off the 2010 football season, State vs Memphis. Hail State!!

So onto the more exciting news... one of my bosses calls me in the conference room this morning telling me how he was impressed with my performance the past couple of months (and I'm thinking...what about the past 3 years? )... anyways he says I deserved a pat on the back... He hands me a calendar with Wednesday, January 5th-Sunday, January 9th blocked out I just looked at him and he said....would you and Nic like a full paid trip to the Cayman Islands? HECKKKKKK yes!

Our company has a meeting once a year (its the Southern Construction Group meeting) and they always travel out of the country. Last year was in Ireland ... I can handle the Cayman Islands! We fly out Wednesday at 7:30 am, have a dinner that night, short meeting Thursday morning and then Nic and I are FREEEEEEEE to hang out, explore and PLAY!

I'll have to admit, I'm very proud of myself and will definitely still pat myself on the back. I've worked my ass off the last few months but this makes it all worth it!! We will be staying at The Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman Hotel
