Life is tough, get a helmet!

The past few weeks have been a whirlwind for Nic and I. We came across a house that we LOVED, made a decision to "go for it" -placed ours on the market..... all that wild MESS. And a true MESS it has been!

Where are we now? Well...after having our house on the market 1 week-we get an offer-WE WERE THRILLED! I was supposed to be getting back with the "potential buyer" this afternoon BUT in the meantime I got a phone call from the realtor of the new house (lets call it Buckingham) saying that the house we LOVE and were in the process of buying was being REMOVED from the market this morning. WHAT THE HELL???? We were moments from selling ours and now they are removing the one we were buying from the market?!

What the hell do we do now?! Well really we had no choice, we had to remove ours from the market. So..2 hearts were crushed today. Ours, of course, becaues we LOVED Buckingham, loved the lot, loved the layout, loved the beautiful wood floors, ceilings, kitchen, appliances, circle driveway, patio-must I go on...?! WE. LOVED. THIS. PLACE. And...the poor girl that was wanting ours. She wanted to be moved in by March 30 and now because of Mr. Buckingham neither of us get what we want. Damn him!

"It wasn't meant to be"  Thats what we've been told. And looking back on it, I agree BUT I am still angery with Buckingham and I'm sure the girl that had plans to move in ours is angry with him too!

Buckingham, you are a memory of the PAST. I think your stucco is ugly when its wet anyways and ...you should fire your landscaper! Hideous yard!

On to happy things...this weekend I'm having a "girls weekend" with LOTS and LOTS of retail therapy. Hopefully that will heal this broken heart=)

Peter and Paul ... HERE WE COME!

We plan to hit up Peter's Pottery EARLY Saturday morning

followed by some shopping @ Paul Michael on the way home!
Happy Early Birthday Emma Lou!! We can't wait to spend your birthday weekend with you in the Delta!!!

A week of good eats

Exactly a week ago today I was drinking around 4-5pm and enjoying a wonderful "Fat Tuesday" meal of jumbalaya & a fried oyster po-boy. We rarely fry foods but Nic made the suggestion (as long as Im not cooking, I don't care what we eat!) and of course I thought it was very fitting for the day=) We finished off the evening with king cake too!!

Delicious, super fattening oyster po-boy!

Then Thursday night I had super club/thirsty Thursday @ my house: themed "Tiny Bites"
Some of the girls
Lots of wine was consumed!

Lots of great food too!

Beautiful view on our way to dinner Friday..

 Dinner with friends Friday night..

Saturday we had drinks @ The King Edward followed by dinner at one of my FAVORITE places..

I had a wonderful/relaxing Sunday. Wonderful church service followed by more food breakfast @ Waffle House. It was such a beautiful day so my friend Jessica and I went walking @ the Nature Park (in Flowood) and then we took her precious baby to Winner Circle Park to play.
IF YOU HAVE NOT BEEN TO EITHER OF THESE, THEY ARE A MUST!! You are seriously missing out. The nature park has a 1 mile walking course around a pond, through the woods, etc. BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL views!
Winner Circle Park (which was Landscaped by Barry Landscape (Nic)....just had to throw that in there!) has a 1/2 mile track and EVERY PIECE OF EQUIPMENT you could imagine. Its for kids of ALL ages. A $2mm project that was worth EVERY penny!

These 2 parks costs roughly $4mm, all sales tax money-KEEP SHOPPING PEOPLE!!! They are wonderful and I hope they are "kept up" well!

My two boys bird watching Saturday afternoon.....
Beautiful Saturday-we lounged around on the patio and sipped a few beer =)

Headed to the park with precious Caleb..

Needless to say, I had a wonderful week. Lots of good food and good company!

Unhappy customer

Last Friday night my wedding ring broke. I didn't loose a diamond or break a prong (which I've done both multiple times) the actual ring SNAPPED in two (yes, in HALF). I didn't cry or anything, instead I proceeded to complain A LOT because I was FURIOUS!

I was placing something in the kitchen drawer, as I pulled my hand out, my ring must have hit the top of the drawer/counter top and BAM... ring in two pieces.  Is this normal? I think not.

So Saturday morning I pranced into Juniker Jewelers, insisting that Nic let me do all the talking (imagine that)....Man behind the counter, "Good Morning! What can we help you with today? I responded... "Yes you can help me, my wedding ring snapped in two pieces last night......" Man interrupts, "oh honey, we will have that fixed and looking like new in no time"

I was dumbfounded... I mean, HELLO did you not just hear what I said...RING BROKE IN TWOOOO PIECES?!

It's always something.. I just had some prongs replaced 3 months ago (for the 2nd time). I try and have it cleaned/checked every 6 months or so and it seems like EVERY time I go in-SOMETHING is loose. Can't I catch a break? (and I did, literally)

Nic goes back today to pick up my ring, $150 later-its back on my finger. I'm like...WE HAD TO PAY? Why did we have to pay for this? When you buy a ring, you expect it to last a lifetime. I understand loosing diamonds but a ring BREAKING into two pieces....seriously...that is bizarre!! Is this real gold?

Nic informed the guy that I work at a desk, so its not like I expose my ring to the outdoors (landscaping, etc) so how the heck did this happen. The guys response was "does she wear it everyday?" So Nic says "yes, that's why I bought it" Juniker Man "Oh....that's the problem, she shouldn't wear it all the time, it wears it down and weakens it" HUHHH?

Has anyone ever heard that? Don't wear your wedding/engagement ring everyday because you might "weaken it?" So Nic being a smart @$$ then asked the guy if the set of pearl earrings he just bought from them a few months ago was going to break if I wore them too much. The guy smiled and said "possibly"

Needless to say,The Meeks are done with Juniker. I hate that because they are such good people but whoever the idiot is that dealt with Nic REALLY set him off. Whether it was $150 or completely free, you don't expect your wedding ring to break in two when it hits a drawer/counter.

Smile!

I sure find myself saying this quite a bit! Love it!

Happy Thursday, 1 day closer to the FREAKIN' WEEKEND!
