Anyone else used to subscribe to Seventeen Magazine JUST to read the "why me" section in the back? I don't think I ever really flipped through an entire magazine, I only flipped directly to the "why me" stories. Gosh, I just loved them!!
So anyways....if y'all remember, they were always embarrassing stories that we mortifying to us teenagers! I always wanted to write a personal experience and send it in so I could see it published...never did=(
Anyways... I want to share a funny story with y'all but first.. lets reminisce a bit..
"For winter break, I went up north to learn how to snowboard, and it
turned out that my instructor was a major cutie, so I was even more
excited! But just when I started to do well, I fell on my butt in the
middle of the snow. I started crying because it hurt so bad, but to make
everything worse, the cute instructor came up right behind me and
smiled at me in a 'You’re pathetic' kind of way."
"I was in the drugstore with my best friend buying tampons, and we were
debating on which ones we liked better. Right as my crush walked by we
crouched down, thinking he didn't see us, but then he turned the corner
and came up to us and said, 'Wow, I only thought girls were like this
when they were shopping for shoes!' It was so embarrassing!"
"One day I was outside playing with my twin brother in our swimming
pool. He was chasing me around, and so I got out and ran over to the
front yard. Finally, he caught me and he reached out to grab me by my
pants, but he accidentally pulled them off and I tripped into the mud
with NO pants on. As my brother was walking over to say sorry, I noticed
one of the cute guys from my school taking a picture of me with his
phone. He ended up showing the picture to everyone at school! I was
mortified!"
"I'm the captain of the varsity cheerleading squad, and at one of our
games my friend Maria told me that part of my cheer uniform skirt was
stuck in my spanky pants! I quickly pulled it out and looked around to
make sure nobody saw it, but the entire football team was laughing
hysterically!"
"Last winter I was over at my friend's house and we were bored, so we
decided to go in her hot tub. We went skinny-dipping since it was so
cold outside and the hot tub was superhot. Afterward, we decided to go
jump in the snow outside. Well, what we didn't know was that my crush
lived on her street and was out taking a walk. So, when we ran to the
front yard and jumped in the snow, he totally saw us! I was so
embarrassed!"
"So, I was sleeping over at my friend Emily's house, and when we were
eating breakfast, I excused myself to use the bathroom. I had to go
pretty badly, and I walked right into the bathroom as Emily's older
sister was just getting out of the shower! She just stared at me, and
then I ran out. I was so embarrassed!"
"My best friend, Britney, and I were at this clothing store trying on
bras when my former best friend came in. She works for the school paper
and she secretly took pictures of us trying on embarrassing stuff! The
next day, the school paper had me on the front page! So embarrassing!"
Ok, I hope everyone enjoyed those! I miss getting my Seventeen Magazine but lucky for internet....I can read the "Why Me" section online now=)
Anyways, the other night Nic and I went to the movies (as I previously blogged about). We went by the gas station on the way so I could get sour worms and a caffeine free diet coke. Of course Nic grabbed other goodies too. Its not so much that I don't want to support the theatre and buy from them but its a 7:30 movie on a Sunday night...I need caffeine free diet coke and sadly, they don't serve it!
So..we get to the movie, I quitely open the screw on top of my diet coke during previews and leave it loose so it wouldn't be loud when I wanted a sip during the movie. There is a row of girls sitting behind us-5 of which I knew- another reason I didn't want to be "obvious" with my sneak in movie drink and snack. So during the movie, we snack on the sour worms, no big deal-pull off all of the loud wrappers of 100 starburst.....still no big deal. Then....about half way through the movie (we still haven't touched the drink bc its obvious when you drink out of a bottle drink-movie only serves them in a cup!!) I hear a hissing noise. WTH? Of course its an quite scene on the movie. The hissing noise gets louder... Then I realize....OMG, its my drink spewing! I can't see a thing because its pitch black. I start reaching under all the seats around me...finally find it. It was definitely my drink spewing. GREAT. I quickly put the lid back on it, it stops making the noise. Then Nic is going to look at me and say..."What was that? Was that our drink?"
I couldn't answer him...I was laughing so hard (a quite laugh, which is hard for me). I had tears filling my eyes and of course couldn't get a word out. He then asked again..."Omg, Kelly....was that our drink?" I'm giving him the silent shut up look but of course he can't see it.... I proceed to ignore his question because my answer would be heard by everyone and I'm still at this point thinking I was slick and nobody heard....WRONG!
After the movie, I ran into the girls I knew that were sitting behind us..they definitely confirmed that heard the drink. Lovely!
Embarraassed just a bit...why me=(
R & R
This past weekend was very relaxing, I hate that it had to end. I think I'm one of the very few people that didn't take part in the Warrior Dash. We had plans of going to a lake in Tuscaloosa for the weekend but after all the rain last week, Nic got really behind with work, so....no traveling for us. Instead, I FINALLY unboxed some stuff, organized the house, cleaned a little and got some much needed z's!
Friday afternoon when I returned from a long week on the road, Nic took me to Julep for dinner and drinks. Perfect choice! I had been craving a strawberry pecan salad for over a week and THEIRS IS THE BEST!
We tried the butter bean hummus for an appetizer. Loved it! Neither of us have ever had this dish. I highly recommend it! Nic is already coming up with his own recipe for this so we can make it at home!!
Of course after I ordered my entree and recieved it, I decided I liked Nic's food better. (this always happens and he is so sweet to always trade!!) I had the blackened tuna filet and he got the "award winning fried chicken!" Who doesn't love good ole friend chicken?!
Saturday night Nic cooked a wonderful meal for me and 3 of my favorite girls, Bridgett, Abbey & Kate Douglas. Bridgett's husband was out of town so they came over for dinner and we stayed up late playing!!

Abbey modeling my boots
One of the happiest little girls I know!
Kate Douglas follows Abbey's every step!
Time for PJ's
Both girls are facinated by a cowbell=)
And abbey loves saying "gooooo dogs"
Abbey found a magnifying glass in Nic's office and couldn't put it down.
Loved playing with my precious little friends! Good to know that even though we've moved across town, I still get to see them=)
A cute fact about Abbey....when she gets sleepy, she craws in your lap and puts her hand in your hand. She likes for you to hold/rub her hand while massaging her foot too! How cute is that? A 2 yr old already demanding foot massages!
Sunday morning we slept in-skipped church (oops!), had brunch @ Mint and I got to do a little shopping with the hubs!
Love starting off our morning with a cold mimosa=)
Of course I knew the chicken would be a good bet so I did the chicken and waffles, DELISH!
To end our wonderful weekend, we went to the movies Sunday night and saw "The Lucky One". I LOVED IT!! I highly recommend this movie to everyone.
Zac Efron was pretty cute in the movie too=)
Sale!
My husband always says when I hear "sale" I immediately think of 1000 reasons I need to buy something...in other words I make a "compulsive purchase." I'm a woman..isn't that how we all think? I just like knowing I'm getting a good deal-regardless of what it is, ha!
So..I was looking for some cute summer sandals today and came across a couple of wonderful sales I thought I'd share with y'all! I just knew I had to share these with my friends but couldn't dare post these on facebook because then the husband would know what I was up to....

Well..I started my Monday morning off RUNNING LATE. Woo hoo. Great start to a new week. Why is it soooo hard to pry yourself out of the warm sheets on Mondays? Not that Tuesday-Friday is much easier but seriously, Mondays KILL ME! But...lucky for everyone in the office (all 3 of us today, ha) I made it. Better late than never I guess.
Walk in, first one here (strange), notice that work/construction is going on in the suite next to us. Lovely. More things to distract me. Since I was gone most of last week I figured I'd catch up on some emails, check voicemails, etc.. Love being the only one here, its so nice and quite, I'm enjoying my diet coke and goldfish breakfast...I seem to be comprehending everything I read (again, extremely hard for a Monday) .....then hear an extremely unpleasant noise. A nasty, LOUD burp. A contractor (who appeared cute at first) working next door obviously didn't realize how thin the walls were and gave it all he had. Disgusting. Now, I'm listening to him and another guy carry on conversation, drill things, saw wood (or something?) drop stuff, etc. WHY DID I EVEN ATTEMPT TO WORK TODAY? I'm so easily distracted and this is not helping!
Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend....

Weekend Recap
The closing went well Friday. I actually ended up really liking the lady. She was very complimentary about my house and told me she loved my furniture, etc and wishes she could have just bought it and left the house decorated the way it was. Wow... little does she know... I love change. Hell, I would have sold it! Not now though, once its moved out, it aint going back! Moving antiques and big furniture was NOT FUN! I did mention to her that the picture over the mantle was headed to the consignment store and she said "name your price"---sweet...she bought it=)
I ended up going back over to "the old house" with her for 30-45 mins and we talked, exchanged numbers, etc. I'm much more at ease now since she's cool=) AND...she told me I'm welcome back anytime.
Friday afternoon I met Bridgett (neighbor) and her two precious girls for yogurt and then we went to Winners Circle Park to play for awhile. I was so happy to get to spend time with them....going to definitely miss those precious girls!
After the park, I finished my Friday off with drinks and dinner at my friend Brittany's. So....my dreaded Friday turned out to be better than expected!
Saturday morning I took Remi on a walk around our new neighborhood. It was SOOO wonderful. There are trees EVERYWHERE so it was a shaded walk-very lovely! Everyone was out in their yards or out walking/running....super friendly neighbors! With all those trees come squirrels. Oh my..... there were thousands! Remi does good until he sees a squirrel or bird.... lets just say the majority of our walk was him pulling me. I actually rolled my ankle, not once but TWICE, while walking him. Not fun, I had a wedding Saturday night (and a swollen/bruised ankle w/ heels is NO fun).

Chasing a squirrel
Beautiful streets
Watching the birds
Such a beautiful walk. I'm really loving this neighborhood. (Eastover) A couple of people have said they would NEVER live in Jackson but quite honestly... we are loving it here. Its central to EVERYTHING and although some of the houses are older, they all keep their value (very well!!) and the neighbors couldn't be better. There are lots of young couples that live around us-just hope they are fun! And the talk about it being "unsafe".....I think that is SOUTH JACKSON. Northeast Jackson has security 24/7 that patrols all of the neighborhoods and there is very little walking traffic, so... I feel completely safe!
Saturday afternoon my mom came to town with Mattie and Molly- they did some "little girl" shopping for swim suites, etc and then met me for lunch @ Broadstreet (where we stocked up on chocolate chip cookies!!) and then we headed to the Spring Market @ The Trade Mart. SOO fun!
They signed up for all of the drawings. Lucky for me, I won one=)
Saturday night we had Anna Bailey's wedding. It was BEAUTIFUL and Anna was stunning!
My foot in these heels didn't last long.
The newly engaged Sarah & Scott
Grooms cake
Brides cake
Beautiful flower arrangements on every table!
Loved this!
Phone died so I never got a picture with the bride=(
This morning Nic and I went to Vicksburg for a brunch at my Aunt & Uncles. The celebration was for my aunts birthday, Uncle becoming Catholic and Carter & Wailes (cousins) making their confirmation.
Flowers on the gate (loved the beautiful colors and ribbon)
Beautiful, colorful flowers on the lights.
Loved all the bright spring colors
