Oh happy day

Just a few things that make me HAPPY..(in no paticular order)
1.) My sweet pup-Remi. He can cheer me up (seriously) with his cute little face ANYDAY!
2.) My loving, PATIENT, hard working, romantic husband (he is full of adjectives) Thank you God for putting him in my life=)
3.)  My job-I absolutely love what I do and I'm thankful to be where I am. The traveling part is fun too....I see towns all over and get to do lots of shopping and eating....which brings me to #4
4.) Food....I'm no food critic (like Nic) but I love good food. However, I would rather eat than cook...Nic is the chef. (another adjective)
5.) Family- I'm so fortunate to have such a big, close family and I love spending time with each and every one of them (my parents, Heidi Ho, grandparents, aunts/uncles, cousins, in-laws, etc)
6.) Friends-I try not to ever loose touch with people --although the distance and busy work schedules make that difficult....none the less...I love all of my friends and I would do anything in the world for them. I tend to be a people pleaser at times (that annoys me)....on the same token..I am very honest and blunt (I think i'm turning into my grandmother----speaking before thinking...ah) with my friends and I believe that is what has kept our relationships going!!
7.) God- (again, no particular order here) he has done SOO much for me, my family, friends, etc. Everything is possible through HIM! As most of you know, I have a VERY long prayer list. I pray for people that I dont even know but the way I look at it, the more prayers that go up, the better. I sure hope people pray for me, PRAY FOR ME, PLEASE?!

Baby Presley

FYI...My blogs are never in order (I have a scattered brain)

So April 18th, me and 4 other girls, hosted a shower for Julie and Presley! Nic worked so hard on our patio and landscaping so that it would look its best for the shower...and it did! The weather was beautiful...not too hot and not too windy.

Greasy grimy gopher guts

Does anyone remember this?

Great green gobs of greasy grimy gopher guts

Mutilated monkey meat
Hairy pickled piggy feet
French fried eyeballs floating in some kerosene
And me without a spoon.

I wonder if kids these days sing songs like this..? This song just makes me laugh...I never could figure out all the words to it when the little boys (in elementary) would sing it. YUCK!

rain, rain, pour for DAYS!

Most people hate when it rains  (because they can't get outdoors and do stuff). Me on the other hand... I'm not really minding THIS rain. Yes I usually mind it because I can't walk Remi and I have to bath him 1,000 times but......right now my plants need it and I just need it! I'm kinda wishing it will rain  ALL day tomorrow. When it rains, Nic can't work and when Nic can't work, he gets bored..... we shop, get stuff done around the house, go out to eat, etc. Makes for a fun day for me=)
Check out that flooding. That happened last year sometime...scary,huh? I was on the news for that right there....TWICE! Autographs later!

On another note...tomorrow evening Nic and I actually have something planned. We are going to a little crawfish bday "get together" for my great friend, Brittany! I hope the rain stops for her sake but rain or shine.....we shouldn't let it stop us from eating the crawfish, right?

Mr. and Mrs. Davis
This is the birthday girl, Brittany Davis!

Nic wants a good dinner tonight (yay for me) so I've gotta run.....we're going to Nick's-going to be delish!!

Isn't She Lovely

Of course the weekend flew by AGAIN...

I woke up early Saturday (6am to be exact) washed clothes, cleaned around the house, took Remi for that fun 3 mile walk and then spent the rest of the day laying out! I LOVE THE SUN!!! Nic had a job going right down the road from our house so I took breaks from sunbathing to take him and the crew some crystal light.

My friend Sarah May (the one i've blogged about before) came over for an early morning walk and she also laid out with me. It was fun and we got quite a bit of sun.

So as the day started, Nic and I were giong to attend 2 weddings, one in Madison and one in Greenwood. Plans fell through for going to the Madison wedding so we jetted off to Greenwood for the 6:30 wedding there (Rachael White and Danny Faught) We got to Greenwood at exactly 6pm and had 30 mins to find our hotel, change clothes and make it to the church (which we heard was mega small so I was almost positive we were going to be late and STANDING for this one)

When we got to the hotel, Jennifer and Dan were dressed and ready so we threw on our outfits and jumped in the car. Luckily Dan knew where we were going.....not that you could ever imagine one could get LOST in Greenwood but they have lots of one-way roads in their downtown area and when you are in a huge rush....thats not good. Finally we made it to the church, at 6:28, and got seated just in time! We couldn't all 4 sit together due to the lack of seating left so Nic and I squeezed in on a pew (yes thats how you spell it, I just looked it up) behind about 5 girls and 2 guys, all WASTED. I had a lot of things going through my mind at this time.....#1 Was it extremely noticable that we were late?, #2 Is my dress too short in the back, #3 Are these guys/girls just wedding crashers or do they actually know Rachael and Danny and before I could think too much harder about anything the chick in front of me bust into tears....? Hm... this is going to be interesting.

So the processional starts and now 2 girls are shedding tears.....I try my best not to stare and just to watch the wedding party and moms. Finally the doors open, music begins and Rachael walks in...(looking like the happiest bride in the world) Of course the two girls crab each other and are squailing at this point. So I assume that its Rachael that they know....UGH.... none the less...she walks that aisle, kisses/hugs her daddy then continues with the ceremony. She was one BEAUTIFUL and happy bride. They recited their vows, kissed, etc and as they are walking out, one of the drunk chicks screams "wooo hoooo" and I'm like WHAT??????? You dont do that at a wedding. Come to find out these girls are all med school students with Rachael, my guess is they just dont know how to act in public because they dont get out much=)

The reception was wonderful...it was held at the Greenwood Country Club.

Best strawberry cake ever!

Danny's cake had a MSU theme. After Rachael and Danny fed each other pieces of the cake, they broke out with the cowbells. It was soo cute and everyone loved it.
The band was "out of this world" with entertainment by The Compositions! Everyone had a great time.
I'm thinking this could have been "shout"
They were a fun bride and groom...as you can see!
As the night came to an end, french fries and ketchup was passed around...best idea EVER=)

"Isn't she lovely
Isn't she wonderfull
Isn't she precious
Less than one minute old
I never thought through love we'd be
Making one as lovely as she
But isn't she lovely made from love "

Rachael and her daddy danced to this lovely Stevie Wonder song!

Sweet Caroline...

Where it began, I can't begin to know when But then I know it's growing strong
Oh, wasn't the spring, whooo
And spring became the summer
Who'd believe you'd come along

I absolutely LOVE this song as I'm sure most of you do. This is a classic. I have a cousin Caroline. When she was little, I would sing this to her and she HATEDDDDD it. She would beg me to "shut up." I thought it was the song she hated but now that I think back on it...it was most likely my singing. Oops...I still love it and its definitely a song you get carried away with. (well I do anyways)

Anyways...this post isn't even about Caroline, although I will be posting about her soon. she is about to graduate High School....where did the years go? Ah...I was there when she was born...CRAZY!

This post is all about my "Rem Dog." My mom thinks its dumb that I call him that (his name is Remington) but he comes to that and its shorter than saying his full name. I talk to Remi more than I talk to anyone, literally. I got him Christmas 08 and he has been my cuddle partner every since. I talk to him like a human. I actually see more of him than I do my own husband. (thats sad)

I love this dog more than I EVER thought I would love an animal. I was raised with dogs but never have I EVER had a pup like this. Remi seems to honestly understand me. Now dont get me wrong, he isn't trained to fetch and do tricks but between me and him...he understands what I say. (he just doesn't always act on it) I used to think it was dumb that Paris Hilton took Tinkerbell EVERYWHERE she went

I hate to be partial but damn this dog isn't even cute, please say you agree?!

like mother, like daughter!
Anyways...back to my love for Remi...he holds my heart for sure. Nic actually gets jealous of him. When I walk in the door, the first one I call and look for is.....you guessed it...REMI! I'm not sure how it feels to love a human child because I dont have one but this is my child for now and I would do ANYTHING in this world for him.

Remi LOVES to go riding. He doens't like Nic's truck for some reason but when I open the door to my car, he jumps right in. He likes to sit on the back seat and put his 2 front paws on the middle console. Lately he has discovered the sun roof. He used to hang out the side window (until I put a stop to that because he has fallen out TWICE while I was driving...scaring the HELLLLLLLLL out of me)

His daddy loves him.
Just like a human... loves the TV!
We have matching scarves

Look at that face.
This dog is going to help me live a long life (of happiness and health) I rush home everyday to make a 3 mile walk with him.I usually dont feel like it after a long day in the office but I get home and he runs to that front door and sits patiently. If I take too long changing, he brings his leash to me or jumps all over the table where I keep it. (seriously...smart dog)  so I put on the kicks and head out. I've been told that little active body needs to be walked 30-45 mins everyday (mine too I guess)

I completely understand how parents are obsessed with their children and think they do no wrong. I"m the same way. Remi can jump on me (bruising and scratching the hell out of my legs) or dig up a plant in the yard but his little cute face keeps him from being disciplined. Thats dumb, my husband agrees but I just can't help it. He is so cute and means well.

Have I mentioned Remi is a 50lb dog? Imagine sleeping with him PLUS a husband.

Enough for now... Rem Dog is asleep under my chair so it must be after our bedtime!

Download Sweet Caroline if you dont have it and ........GET A DOG! (Springer Spaniel to be exact)

My life's a natural hop, wont you bunny hop with me?

would write more lyrics to "bunny hop" but it gets a little "dirty!"

Nic and I went to 8:30 mass with my mom Easter Morning then came home and exchanged gifts. I got clothes and candy and Nic got cooking spices (which he LOVED) and a skill saw. (he wanted it?!)

We went to my grandmother Derivaux's house for lunch and the annual easter egg hunt. (I've gotten too old to hunt the eggs so now i'm stuck hiding them...BUT there is no longer a golden egg (aka $$$$) so i'm ok with that arrangement!

Ready, set.....EGG HUNT!

The Derivaux children running for their lives.....

Derivaux's counting their egggs to see who "won"

Good Friday=Good Celebration!

This past weekend my mom celebrated her ## birthday. (I can't remember her age because she conveniently can't remember the year she was born?!) I went to Vicksburg after lunch Friday to surprise my mom and we spent the afternoon shopping followed by a birthday "tea party" at my grandmothers. (my grandparents have had "tea time" everyday at 4:30 since I can remember) My mom got lots of great gifts --jewelry, workout clothes, art, pottery and lots of cute clothes---thanks to me=) My dad isn't much of a shopper so I do the purchasing and sign his name to the cards!
While we shopped, my mom kept telling everybody that they were calling it "Good Friday" because it was HER BIRTHDAY. Typical Ann!

We had plans to go to Roca for dinner but my mom really wanted Mexican so..CHANGE OF PLANS...off to El Sombraro. Our chips were stale, our cheese dip took 20-25 mins AND we had this very disturbing table of young boys sitting behind us so I knew this would be a interesting evening. At one point during dinner, one of the boys behind us stood up, bumped into my dad and said "you sit your ass down MF"....my dads eyes got HUGE and then the boy said, "sorry about that sir" and walked off. We were all so stunned and couldn't figure out what just happened. My dad WAS NOT happy about the inncident and still couldn't figure out if the boy was talking to him or the other guy at the table....it was quite funny but the boy never came back so we laughed it off and continued with the stale chips.

After complaining about the stale chips and forgotten cheese dip I told the waiter it was my moms bday so before we knew it, all the waiters in the place came prancing out singing their version of "happy birthday"..

None the less, we had a GREAT time and had MUCH more fun that we would have had we gone with Roca!

Summer nights....everybody are you with me?

First of all...I LOVE music and I love quoting songs (hince the title for this post) Most of my facebook albums are names of songs, parts to songs, etc. I felt this song was appropriate because I'm LOVING this warm weather and can't wait for more of it!!

I haven't updated this thing in quite sometime....mainly because i'm frustrated with blogger right now. I can't seem to figure out how to center align my template. FRUSTRATING. N-E-WAYS (we used to say that in junior high so I had to bring it back)---

Quite a bit happened in February and March so I have much to tell. My best friend, Sarah May, moved to Mississippi after being gone 11 or 12 years. She moved away when we were in junior high (to Georgia) then the road took her to Chattanooga, needless to say I BROUGHT HER BACK TO MISSISSIPPI!  She had a great job and beautiful house on Signal Hill Mountain in Chattanooga but something about that place didn't feel right to me so I (yes i'm taking FULL credit) convinced her it was time to move back home to her "roots." I was so excited about the move that I went to Chattanooga (on a Friday evening), stayed up til 3 am helping her pack, got back up at 6 and loaded all her stuff in a HUGE uhaul and drove her stuff to Mississippi! It took me an entire week to recoop after that trip(7 hour trip) but I'm soo happy to have her back! (thats a damn good friend, huh)

Scott drove the truck down the mountain, Thank GOD!
I personally think you should have to have a CDL to drive this huge thing.

Please note the signage...VERY difficult journey in a huge, loaded down truck.

The weekend I "trucked it" to Chattanooga, Nic started our patio. He had to bring in 4 or 5 truck loads of dirt to build up the area. On Sunday (even though I was dead tired) I offered to help and he accepted so..we went and got another truck load of dirt and I had to help MANUALLY unload it all by shovel. During this process Nic was using the bob cat in the back yard and got it stuck in the mud, damaging a section of our fence...GREAT! (another project) Keep in mind, this was 9 am on a Sunday morning.....I think our neighbors most likely hated us at this point. (bob cats are LOUD and so was I when the damn thing grabbed my fence)

This big boy is what "grabbed" my fence.

Needless to say after 4 STRAIGHT weekends of working on the patio....its beginning to look marvelous!

Didn't get pictures of the truck loads of dirt or all the hours they put into doing the form boards, etc
Driving in the rebar and wire mesh
Installing some steps with mortar
Almost finished!! The other side will have pavers and a fire pit...would have been enjoyable during the COLD months=)
Since this picture, we've re-sodded our backyard...thanks to that BOB CAT that distroyed everything!!!!!
