So every year my family "throws down" for Thanksgiving...its what you would call a "HUGE FAMILY REUNION!" We have had up to nearly 100 family members at our Thanksgiving but sadly I think it has dropped to 60 or so in recent years. None the less---its soo much fun, its the one time each year that we see almost all of our family. We have family come in from Birmingham, Dallas, Houston, Orlando, New Orleans, etc.
We begin on Wednesday night (Thanksgiving Eve) at my aunt and uncle's house (The Kemps) with appetizers, wine, beer, etc. Thursday morning around 10 or so, everyone comes to my parents (The Hadens) to begin our long Turkey Day celebration. We have a biggggg open bar on the back porch and unlimited food and deserts to fill you belly with! Nic and I have a request every year... my aunt Dee Dee's Italian Cream Cake--the best icing you've EVERR had-and Nic is a food critic=)
Adults eat, drink and talk football and hunting while the kids play football on the hill and pestorize my parents dogs! We used to have those big space jumpers set up in the backyard but most of the kids are older now and those aren't "cool" anymore!
Thanksgiving night, after everyone has napped, etc...we go to my aunt Glynn Lassiter's condo, which is in downtown Vicksburg with AMAZING views of the city and river! Here everyone continues to DRINK, eat and share crazy stories. This year, like many, my mom was the entertainment--and many say we act alike....SCARY!!!!!!!
