We had dinner on the square in Canton, did a little shopping and spent 4 hours talking/baking/learning with Ms Lou! We learned how to make petit fours and heard lots of wonderful "life stories" from Lou.
Lou was absolutely wonderful. She is 83 years old and makes over 250 petit fours/day during her "peak season" (like Christmas). She was up until 3 am the night before we came but was FULL of energy when we arrived. Can't wait to make my first batch!
Birthday Girl w/ her Gigi cupcake!
Having dinner at RJ Barrel and Co on the square
We surprised Brooke with a Peter's Pottery bowl that Peter himself signed for her=)
Before the petit four class-waiting for Lou at Village Confections
Soon after, we popped open the wine and snacked on petit fours=)
Meet Lou (and Mackie)
Mackie was good at the frosting
Lou doing her "thang"
(we made 4 dozen)
To me, this is the hardest part. I'm not patient and I don't seem to have a steady hand!
Hands down, Brooke wins the award for best petit fours.
Seriously....she is quite creative!
Hope you had a wonderful birthday Brooke...I think we can al say, we had a ball!!
