Day 5. Mom and I landed in Denver early last Friday morning and the whole reason for rushing to get here was because I was supposed to be at the clinic the day after my CD1 (cycle day 1) for an ultrasound. Well my CD1 should have been on Friday (8/9) but here it is Tuesday and I'm still waiting. I've never been so anxious and ready for my cycle like I have the past several days. My next 2 weeks are depending on this cycle. We haven't booked Nic's flight out here because we aren't sure when he needs to come just yet. We can't afford for him to miss 2 weeks of work while I'm laid up in a hotel room taking medicine and making daily trips to the clinic so we are trying to be smart about it and get him out here the week of my procedure/retrieval. The original plan was for mom to be here the first week, Nic to fly in the second week and I would only be alone 2 days (between their departure/arrival) This late CD1 has thrown us a curve ball. Patience, Kelly, Patience!
I am SO overwhelmed, however, God is planning something better for us. He holds all the answers to our every desire. He holds all the answers to all of our disappointments and will direct our desires in His way, in His will, and in His timing. He has a good plan for good things.
Mom has been my rock. She has kept me busy since we landed on Friday. We have walked and walked until our little feet literally couldn't take anymore (y'all know that's a lot of walking for her!) Thankfully we have a rental car and we driven every road and neighborhood around us. We get up each morning and walk miles and miles taking in the beautiful views around us. The weather is AMAZING.
We drove to Golden and Boulder on Saturday. We absolutely loved the beautiful drive towards the mountains. The scenery out here is AMAZING. If you have to be stuck somewhere for a few weeks, make it the mountains of CO!
We had a nice dinner at a local restaurant our first night here but have gotten snack foods @ whole foods the last few nights and curled up in bed watching lifetime movies and eating smorgasbords for dinner. (we used to do this when we were little while my dad was at deer camp) So fun! We have a kitchen in our room so we stocked it with cheese, fruit, crackers, yogurt, hummus and plenty of water! (that's one thing you have to force yourself to drink PLENTY of water out here- high altitude= headaches)
Mom and I went to a Rockies game last night. IT. WAS. AMAZING! We had the best seats behind the Rockies dugout, perfect weather, matching Rockies shirts and ended up meeting a wonderful couple next to us (retired physician) that could not believe Dr Schoolcraft was my doctor. They talked and talked about how amazing he is and that he doesn't take any patients unless he KNOWS he can get them pregnant.
I admit I spend my time anxious and worried when I should be spending my days thanking God instead. I am so blessed. He handpicked us to be a display of his good works here on earth.
XOXO
